Flax: Jack of all trades, Master of none

The historical significance of flax and the method of processing it into linen! Not only was this plant used for textiles. It also had applications within medicinal nutritional as well as other value added goods! But today, the majority of flax is grown in other countries, and we no longer support an industry to process this powerhouse. however, it could be the key to restoring our landscapes while providing additional manufacturing opportunities. Five dollar admission can be purchased at the gift shop located at Old Economy Village historic site. Use the GPS address 1401 Church St., Ambridge, PA. Staff will direct you to the horticultural office. Opportunities to walk the ground and discuss current projects or ask questions will be provided.
