Poverty Tour West Branch

Proposed "Poverty Tour West" itinerary. Folks leaving the west coast will have to choose their own route, there are a lot of sections of Route 66 that can still be traveled. I'll be starting at the famous Roy's in the abandoned town of Amboy. We'll take as much of Route 66 from there to Seligman as possible. We'll join the main Poverty Tour in Kanab for the rest of the trip to Denver.

June 2

West coast to Barstow (or Amboy)

Distance: varies

Choose your route to Barstow, CA. Lots of Route 66 stuff there.

Only an hour and a half to meet up in Amboy from Barstow. I don't know if Roy's hotel is open, plenty of hotels in Barstow.

June 3

Amboy to Seligman, AZ

Distance: 241 miles

Time: Approx 5 hours

Meetup at Roy's 10am

June 4

Seligman to Kanab, UT

Distance: 283 or 313 miles (Depending on route)

Time: 4 - 6 hours (Depending on route)

Meetup: Road K*ll Cafe 10am

We can either travel straight through to Kanab

or drive along the Grand Canyon which will

add approx one hour.
