RSVP helpful Picnic: Main MEAL at 1 pm.
Fun all day! Families, friends, group homes, etc. are all welcome. This is a PWS diet meal, but available to all. Contact me if you can help with the meal. We have several tables and chairs and lots of lawn. You are welcome to bring your favorite chairs/picnic blanket etc. for your family if you have special needs or preferences. Contact us if you want to help out with the planning, setup or clean-up. You may wish to make a cash donation to PWSA of Oregon and Washington for this and other events.
Activities:
There will be walking, hiking, boating, Frisbees and other activities available. Feel free to bring your favorite outdoor activity. There is one pedal boat that seats 4 to share with small & med life jackets. You are welcome to bring your own small non-motorized boat and large life jackets. There is no boat ramp.
Food Security
We have a secure location onsite to lock up all food sources including your coolers, or you can lock it in your vehicle. No unsecured food allowed! This will be a healthy and relaxing environment for all. This site is not a public campground. It is personal property over which we have total control. There are 40 acres with only 4 houses nearby, and they are inhabited by families we know. They will be educated regarding PWS and informed to keep all food, cars, houses, garbage, compost, pet food, etc. secured.
Camping:--RSVP REQUIRED FOR CAMPING—
Families are welcome to camp with advance notice. This will not be a hosted event, but you are welcome to use this space. There is one shared bathroom onsite; one microwave, one small frig to share, 1 BBQ grill to share. NO septic hookups; one central fire pit (no individual campfires allowed);. There is minimal lighting so bring your flashlight or lantern. There is lots of open space for tent and RV camping. You may also enjoy sleeping under the stars—even on an island. There are minimal water/electric hookups for RV’s. There is no charge for any of these, but please clean up after yourself. Contact Vonnie regarding your camping preferences and nights. Reserve quickly before these options are gone!

HOTEL OPTIONS: There are reasonably priced hotels in Woodland, Battleground, and the Salmon Creek area of Vancouver-all within 20 minutes of the site.
GETTING THERE: 18206 NE 399th St, Amboy, WA. Aprox. 20 easy/scenic minutes from I-5, a few miles N of Vancouver, WA. Print your map or directions! Not all cell services work in this area
Aprox. 20 easy/scenic minutes from I-5, a few miles North of Vancouver, WA—East of Woodland.
From Olympia/Seattle and Northern Washington 2 hours from Olympia
I-5 exit # 21 at Woodland (Woodland is your last opportunity for gas/food).
Go straight to stay on Pacific Avenue ¾ mi. Turn left to stay on Pacific Ave at Goering Street for 1 block. Turn left onto Lewis River Road (Hwy 503). Go under the freeway and take the first right onto East CC street (immediately after the off ramp). Cross the Lewis River and immediately go left at the Y onto Hayes Road. Continue Easterly 11.3 miles. Turn right onto NE Munch Rd. In 2.3 miles turn left at the pond onto NE Grantham Rd (aka 399 street). You are almost there! Drive Easterly 1.4 miles to a gravel road (marked Sheadel Lane) on the left: at 18206 NE 399 Street.
From Portland/Vancouver and Western Oregon 40 min from I-5 Interstate Bridge at the Columbia River
I-5 Exit #11 toward Hwy 502 and Battle Ground
Turn right onto Hwy 502 and continue East for 5 miles to Battle Ground (best place for gas/food on the way). Turn left on Hwy 503. Continue Northerly on Hwy 503 for 8 miles. Hwy 503 will take a sharp right and you will see the Fargher Lake market/gas station on the left (last stop for food/gas). Immediately turn left onto 156th Ave (aka Reid Road). Turn right at the 1st stop sign onto Grantham Rd (aka 399th street). You are almost there! Drive Easterly 1.4 miles to Sheadel Lane, a gravel road on the left at:18206 NE 399 St.
From the East 6-1/2 hours from Spokane
The quickest route is to go to Interstate 5 and follow the above directions. If you feel like a scenic drive through Central Washington, you can follow the Lewis River Westerly past Swift Reservoir and Yale Lake. Before Lake Merwin, turn left onto Hwy 503 S/Yale Bridge Road. Stay on hwy 503 S through Cougar to Amboy (Chelatchie Prairie might be last stop for gas). Once in Amboy, after Nicks Bar and Grill and just before Amboy Market stay right on NE 399 Street— leaving hwy 503. The Amboy Market is best stop for food on the way). Continue West on 399 street 1-1/2 miles a gravel road on the right (marked Sheadel Lane) at:18206 NE 399 St.
