Hollywood Summer Nights are back! We are showcasing TWO excellent classic movies a week on our big screen from May- September. The series continues with a special 35mm screening of John Ford's THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE! 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 at amblertheater.org/specials

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Frequently cited as the last truly great film of director John Ford’s career, THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE subverts the western genre with a complex story about truth, celebrity, and violence. With the story largely framed in flashbacks, Jimmy Stewart plays a senator who returns to the western town of Shinbone years after becoming famous for killing a notorious outlaw. Featuring gorgeous black and white cinematography, this film also showcases magnificent performances from Stewart, John Wayne, and Lee Marvin.
