Dancing the Descent: A Ritual Movement Practice + Shamanic Journey

Join Candace Stevens and Meghan Dwyer for a ritualized way to honor the turning of the season. Falling on the halfway point between the Fall Equinox + Winter Solstice and known by many names such as All Souls Day, Samhain and/or Dia de Los Muertos, this practice will invite us to welcome in the innate power and unique gifts of the this time of year.

As the light wanes and the life force moves us downward towards the darkest time of the year, we may feel resistance and strong emotions stirring. Movement and ritual are two ways that can help us navigate our experiences.

Expect dynamic movement meditation with yoga asana and dance to shake off what we’re holding and to connect more deeply to the Self. After we move our bodies, we’ll prepare for a meditation to access our inner knowing and a shamanic journey to make contact with our ancestors in the Spirit World and receive any messages they have for us.

This special offering will also guide us to connect to ancestral wisdom and to explore our relationship to intuition and the inner landscape of the body.

Please bring something for the altar honoring the ancestors (use your intuition here - you can't get it wrong), a journal, and layers (something cool for dancing and cozy for meditation
