Girls Who Science

The Don Harrington Discovery Center is buzzing with excitement for their next Girls Who Science speaker, Dr. Erin Jones, whose field of study focuses on entomology and more specifically, bees and pollinators.

On Labor Day, September 1st, from 4:45 pm to 6:15 pm, DHDC’s Girls Who Science program will be open for all community members to attend at no cost and will include a live bee demonstration by Dr. Jones.

Girls Who Science is held on the first Monday of every month, featuring women in research-based roles to inspire families, students, children, and all other interested individuals. The program is free for all attendees and held in DHDC’s East Wing Auditorium.

After hearing from each month’s guest speaker, DHDC provides an activity exclusively for attendees eligible to join their Girls Who Science club, girls aged 8 to 18. Other attendees are welcome to stay and explore DHDC’s East wing or ask the speakers further questions. Snacks and water will also be provided for attendees.
