Carve and Cook!

This Halloween we’re inviting families to join us at the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen in Altrincham for a pumpkin carving and cooking event!

Join us on Friday 31st October as our community chefs help you and your little ones carve some pumpkins and get creative with some spooky designs! As you carve, we’ll collect the resulting 'food waste' and demonstrate how it can be transformed into delicious dishes...

We'll have some pumpkin specials on the menu for you to try there and then at our Community Kitchen or when you get back home!

We provide the pumpkins and carving tools - you just need to make sure your children are supervised at all times.

Who are we?

Bounceback Food CIC is a social enterprise fighting food poverty on multiple fronts. Our Community Cookery School teams teach people how to cook, run food bank drives at market events, help people get jobs in the food sector and coordinate community meal drives that provide emergency meals for our beneficiaries.

Since 2014 we have taught 12,500+ people how to cook, including stroke survivors, young carers, food bank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We have also secured 25,000+ donations to food banks and generated over 285,000 meals for people in need via our catering, community meal drives and cookery workshops.

Our original Community Kitchen in Altrincham opened on July 1st 2023 - we now have a second Community Kitchen in Mcr city centre too. The 'buy one, give one' menu supports our meal distribution efforts to 15 food banks and sheltered accommodation sites across Manchester.

Yes please!

Where is the Bounceback Food Community Kitchen located?

You can find us at Altrincham Market, on Central Way, opposite Everyman Cinema. There are plenty of parking options nearby, or we are a short walk from the Altrincham tram stop.

How will you cater for my dietary requirements?

Please list any dietary requirements or allergies that members of your family have when you sign up so that we can adapt any menu specials on the day.

I can't make it - how else can I support your Social Enterprise?

There are lots of ways to support our non-profit organisation! You could:

- Visit our Community Kitchen in Altrincham on a different day, we're open for brunch/lunch every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9am-3pm.

- Order cookbooks/merchandise from our online store.
