LILA | The Dance of Divine Play
Līlā (लीला) is a Sanskrit word meaning divine play.
It describes the way life creates, destroys, and recreates itself—not as something to control or perfect, but as something to participate in. Lila reminds us that existence is not just serious or linear—it is mysterious, playful, wild, and alive.
This dance is an invitation to step into that play.
DJ Sproose guides the way, bringing a journey set designed to move through all elements—earth, wind, fire, and water—woven together through experimental bass.
We gather at Center Street Retreat, a former Kundalini space adorned with Sri Yantra and chakra art—an environment that naturally draws you inward, into sensation and intuition.
Lila: Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement journey.
No choreography.
No substances.
No performance.
Just sound, body, breath, and awareness.
There is no “right” way to move here.
Dance wildly. Dance slowly. Rest. Observe. Sweat. Soften.
Follow what feels true.
We’ll begin with an opening circle and guided warm-up to help you drop out of the thinking mind and into the intelligence of the body. From there, the dance opens fully. We’ll close with a sound bath and circle to integrate the experience, followed by time to connect and socialize.
