This is an invitation to gather in. To honour the stillness and the darkness of the season and welcome the return of the light.
Through the holding of Calleach, the crone, Queen of Winter and the invocation of Shiva’s stillness we call on our body’s wisdom to move and to sound and to release.
Solstice means ‘sun standing still’, a moment for us to pause before it changes direction Since mythic times humanity has come together at solstice to find that spark of light within each one of us and bring it into the world.
This mini retreat calls on us to honour our strength and stillness that has seen us through this past year and to feel the first stirrings of the return of new growth still in its nascency and slowly emerging from the darkness of the earth. From darkness to light, from the dead of winter to early spring, from the Calleach to Goddess Bridget, Goddess of Spring and from Shiva’s darkness to Durga’s radiance we will honour the energy of the cosmic impulse to rise again.
During our time together we will be following heart opening practices to honour this important time of the Calender. .
Guided mediation/visualisation, themed somatic movement and sounding (the latter is optional).
We will converge for a short cacao ceremony to honour the return of the sun and our own radiance.

Devotional Kirtan affirming our appreciation for our life itself.
