Interactive free workshop hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Energy for local people to explore renewable energy for the future.
The way we produce and use energy needs to change. We need a lot more energy from renewable sources like wind and solar to meet the UK’s climate targets. At the same time it’s difficult for many people to keep their homes warm in winter even though it’s essential for health and wellbeing. Staying warm in winter is a basic right for everyone.
Community-led energy projects keep benefits local – from cheaper energy bills to investment in local facilities. When communities lead energy projects they create solutions that work for everyone – tackling both climate change and rising energy costs.
What is the workshop?
The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) invite you to join this interactive workshop to share your thoughts on community energy in the area getting your views as local people.
CSE has partnered with Bristol Energy Cooperative and South Gloucestershire Community Network who will help deliver this workshop. This project is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme.
What will happen in the workshop?
It will explore how your community can play a role in the UK’s national efforts to take climate action – thinking about what renewable energy could happen in your area and how it could benefit your community.
The workshop is aimed at anyone who lives or works in the Patchway and Almondsbury area. Everyone is welcome - if you have an opinion on renewable energy and how it could benefit your community we want to hear it.
