🌊 Overview

Join a small, exclusive group of paddlers on a guided 4-day river journey from Alliston to Angus. We’ll be traveling along the Nottawasaga River, stealth camping each night at known safe spots, and lighting up the night with glowing paddle parties after dark.

This trip blends backcountry survival, low-impact camping, and good vibes with a splash of adventure. Fishing, swimming, river floats, and fireside laughs are guaranteed. You’ll carry your own gear, pack light, and leave no trace. If you want in, come correct.

🧭 Route

Start: Alliston (exact launch site TBA privately)
End: Angus
Distance: Alliston to Angus by river... I'll add it when chatGPT figures it out for me 😆
Camps: Pre-scouted stealth sites, safe and gorgeous scenery and wildlife, tons of fun.

🧢 Gear Requirements

You are responsible for carrying your own gear. Choose wisely. We’ll be living off-grid for 4 days with:

✅ Life jacket (non-negotiable)

✅ Backup paddle or oar

✅ Basic camping setup (tent, hammock, or bivy)

✅ Fire-starting gear:

Ferro rod

3+ backup methods (e.g., Bic, stormproof matches, lighter, magnifying lens, fire cubes)

✅ Saw or hatchet

✅ Lantern or camp light

✅ 15+ ft of floating rope

✅ Tow/row rope for your craft

✅ Cooler (softshell preferred; no glass)

✅ Drinking water OR filter gear

✅ Food for 4 days

✅ Biodegradable soap (if used)

✅ Camping toilet bags or wag bags (shared portable toilets will be available)

*A bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting but that's why we'll have a chat going for this 😆

🍻 Rules & Code of Conduct

Leave No Trace – carry out all garbage. Cans, wrappers, and butts too.

No assholes. This is a safe, respectful crew.

You must be self-sufficient. No relying on other people's gear.

Drinking is allowed, but keep it mellow and responsible. No drunk paddling.

Night paddles = glow up! Bring lights, waterproof LEDs, or battery-operated float lights for nighttime river floats.

If you pack it in, you pack it out. No excuses.
Be ready for changing river conditions. The Nottawasaga is wild and we dig and respect it. It's also SO cool, and you will see all kinds of wildlife. We found Massive dead sturgeon last week the size of my leg... that was a bit traumatizing, not gonna lie. Also... there are spiders night one. We camp in a forest that is heavily populated by fishing spiders, wolf spiders and pretty much every other kind of giant spider. We don't K*ll them... but we do check our shoes in the morning before we put them on. Trust me. We Do. There's also a little spooky fun history night one at our spot.
it's all very secret... these places are personal to me, but I'm looking to meet a cool group of people like myself that enjoy a good adventure, and a good story.

🧍‍♀️ Best For

Adventurous folks who want an off-grid paddle experience
Solo campers (hammocks/bivy tents ideal)
Couples/friends willing to share gear or tents
People who like swimming, floating, and late-night glowing river parties

🔥 Bonus Notes

Water resupply is possible at streams or artisan wells near the river

Emergency resupply can be arranged in a pinch (my husband's bridge drops. Any other friends that want to volunteer for that would be great. Very handy being close to home.)

You’ll have a private invite-only map with the route, stops, and tips

We paddle rain or shine – pack accordingly. And remember, this is stealth mode guys. when we go light up, which is totally optional too but the way, but if we've got a crew that wants to, we go upstream lit up and go dark when we hit camp and see our fire, or fires. I imagine we'll have a few but ask our spots have tons of room for people to even space out and explore on your own a bit. Judy don't go too far from base camp, and check your maps to see if you're on private property or not.
If you are... remember that we're stealth camping.

Want to join? Limited to 15 people max.
Message Niki directly to apply – tell her what gear you’ve got, your paddle/camping experience (if any), and what you plan to pack. You don’t need to be a pro, but you do need to be prepared.

Message Niki directly to apply – tell her what gear you’ve got, your paddle/camping experience (if any), and what you plan to pack. You don’t need to be a pro, but you do need to be prepared and know how to pack your boardor boats. But we're also a community! And totally her to help each other learn, and be safe. And have a kick ass time because this is going to be a wicked adventure. Sorry you're stuck with a crazy ADHD artist as your "host"... the river is our host. Not me. I Judi know some secrets in willing to share with a cool group of people.
Wondering about age range?
I do not care how old you are, but there are absolutely zero Karen's allowed. If your name is Karen, that's unfortunate and I don't mean you, unless you are one. We all know what I mean, let's be real. I'm 36 so anyone 19-65 is A okay with me. I love to hear stories from people of all walks of life and think we can learn a lot from each other. So let's form a little community here, and see what we can do. I am going to post shorter events I'm hosting soon that are day trips or overnight trips, as well as trips to wasaga. So, watch for those and maybe we can get a wicked crew of peeps going on here. Bonus points if you play an instrument you can pack on your boat or board. I've got a few 😉

That being said, I'll create a chat and if you're interested, we can get to know each other and start planning out some closer upcoming trips to go out and have a time, and get to know the river.
There are some tricky spots, and you gotta be ready for anything.
