About the Event
The Great Futures Celebration, hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown, is more than an evening out—it’s a community tradition that reminds us that Great Futures Start Here. Rooted in the Club’s mission, the event brings together friends, neighbors, and supporters who believe in creating opportunity and hope for the young people of Allentown.
Guests will enjoy delicious food, great conversation, (very) spirited bidding at our silent auction, and the joy of knowing that their presence directly fuels opportunities for the kids that need us most. Together, we’ll celebrate the spirit of our community and the promise of our youth.
Purpose of the Event
All proceeds from the Great Futures Celebration directly sustain programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown that make a lasting difference in young lives. From academic support and leadership development to sports, arts, and career readiness, the Club provides safe spaces, caring mentors, and life-changing experiences.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This evening is a chance to invest in that mission —and to witness the impact it has on the youth we serve every day.
A Special Program
The evening is centered on connection and celebration, so, our program will be brief. Guests will hear inspiring remarks from one of our Club kids/alum, our Chief Executive Officer, Katarah Jordan, and honoree Elizabeth R. Ortiz. We will highlight the transformative work of the Boys & Girls Club and the bright futures being built right here in Allentown.
Honoring Elizabeth R. Ortiz, Ph.D. & Our Club Kids
This year’s Celebration holds special significance as we honor Elizabeth R. Ortiz, Ph.D. for her commitment to the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown and her dedication to the youth of our city. Dr. Ortiz has been an advocate and mentor, helping to ensure that every child who walks through our doors has the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
In recognizing Dr. Ortiz, we also celebrate the collective spirit of community she represents and the belief that when we invest in our young people, we are all better for it.
But more than anything, this evening is dedicated to our Club kids and we hope you will join us!
