For the first time ever, dynamic duo Laid Back Country Picker are in Australia for a string of unmissable shows, bringing their indescribable brand of 70s guitar power with honky-tonk leanings to the Enmore Hotel for a final Sydney show on Saturday, October 18.
Armed with a Telecaster, a moustache, and a groove that won’t quit, husband and wife team Laid Back Country Picker deliver hard-country riffs, cosmic energy, and wry storytelling that’s earned the duo cult status across the American South—and now, it’s Australia’s turn to ride the laid-back wave.
Laid Back spins tall tales and pays homage to the guitar gods while being driven by the jackhammer drumming of Honey. Laid Back has played with everyone from the Georgia Satellites to the Kentucky Headhunters, has opened for Thin Lizzy and The Guess Who and even served as a mentor to a young Tyler Childers (who now has Laid Back signed to his Hickman Holler label).
Expect honky-tonk attitude, deep-fried soul, and a dose of country humour that’ll have you two-steppin’ to the front row. This is real music played on vintage gear that finds a way to permeate any listener’s ear.
