Just when you thought the Marrickville Music Festival had finished for the day, there is still more good music happening! Head over to the Golden Barley Hotel where the Hovering Spooks and Verdani are playing from 6:00 - 9:00pm. A great way to end the day while enjoying good food and drink.
The Hovering Spooks play psychedelic-post-punk-power-pop-art-rock. The band members have been an integral part of the Australian indie music scene since the late seventies as live performers and recording artists. he Spooks are rapidly building a following at gigs around Sydney and have released their new single “Andy Says…”
They are recording a whole bunch of new songs to be released soon.
The Spooks CVs are too long to list, but as The Barman said in his recent I-94 Bar review of The Spooks “the bands that their members haven’t played in can be accommodated on the big end of a pin ... if that’s not enough underground star power for you, go form your own supergroup.”
Verdani is an original alternative rock band with songs to touch your heart and your soul. Mixing alternative, art rock sensibilities to create fantastic epic songs with beautiful melodies, Verdani is not to be missed.
Swirling keyboards, tribal gothic drumming, and driving melodic guitars form the basis of a unique sound. Verdani's music encompassing many elements including alternative, punk, goth, emo, Brit Pop and glam rock.
