About the event

A People’s History of Newtown
From Green Bans to anti-eviction riots, and from radical bookshops to strikes by musicians, Newtown has an incredible history of protest and dissent. Join your friendly guides and comrades Christian and Tim, hosts of the People’s History of Australia podcast, for a rich and exciting journey through Newtown’s streets and back alleys. Best of all, it is completely free!

Meet at Green Bans Park on Erskineville Road at 11am. The tour will take about two hours. We will drink and have lunch at the Union Hotel afterwards.
