Fire Safety and Land Management

When: Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 am to 1 pm
Where: SAHC Community Farm – 180 Mag Sluder Rd, Alexander, NC

Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy is partnering with Blue Ridge RC&D, Mountain Valleys RC&D, Carolina Land and Lakes, Piedmont Prescribed Burn Association, and NC Forest Service to host a Fire Safety and Land Management Workshop.

The training will include an introduction to forest management at the SAHC Community Farm, firewise basics, homeowner risk assessments, information about prescribed fire as a land management strategy, landscape-scale wildlife preparedness, and more. We will have training and discussion time in the Education and Event building at the farm as well as a walk on the property.

Lunch will be provided. This event is free to attend, but registration is required so that we can plan for the day, including lunch.
