Origins of Calleva in the Iron Age - Professor Mike Fulford Talk

As you walk around its imposing Roman walls, it’s hard to believe that Silchester – Calleva – was once a major centre in the late Iron Age, controlling a huge area of southern Britain.

Professor Mike Fulford CBE returns to Silchester Village Hall on Friday 26 September (doors open at 7.30pm for 8.00pm start) to give a fascinating talk on “Origins of Calleva” – and no, that’s not about our beloved pub!

Mike will take us inside the Iron Age town, sharing who lived there, what they did, and the significance of recent discoveries.
