Wind Wise: Odor Movement Strategies (8:30am – 12:00pm)
If you’ve attended a previous workshop or webinar with Nancy you may have heard her talk about the point-to-point exercise. This is your chance to learn more about it! Odor moves differently in every environment, and understanding those patterns is key to successful searches. This workshop will cover how to read air flow, use point-to-point strategies to support your dog, and help them efficiently source hides in a variety of conditions. Strengthen your teamwork and build the skills needed to tackle any search area with confidence.
Understanding and Training for Pooling Odor in Nose Work (1:00pm – 4:30pm)
Pooling odor is one of the biggest challenges in scent detection—and one of the most misunderstood. In this workshop, we’ll explore what pooling odor actually is, why it happens, and how it can impact your dog’s ability to locate source. Through lecture, environmental analysis, and hands-on exercises, you’ll learn how to recognize pooling situations, how to support your dog without overhandling, and how to train effectively so your team can confidently work through even the trickiest odor traps. Ideal for teams at all levels. Join us to boost your scent work skills and give your dog the tools to work smarter in complex odor conditions!

Nancy’s Biography:
Nancy Reyes, CNWI, has been a professional dog trainer for the past 30 years. In 2004 Nancy opened For Your K9 Inc., which offers a wide variety of classes including Foundation Obedience, Agility, Barn Hunt, Rally Obedience, and Nose Work.
Nancy’s training philosophy is focused on developing and strengthening the bond between people and their dogs. She believes that good communication and mutual respect are key for the success of any relationship.
With over three decades of professional experience as a dog trainer, specializing in a wide range of behavior issues with a particular focus on aggression and reactivity. Nancy travels extensively nationally and internationally presenting on behavior topics and nose work topics.
She is a Certifying Official and Judge for NACSW and a CWAGS and CPE judge. Nancy and her team have helped over 40 and counting achieve Elite Champions and with many AKC Detective titles. Her nose work program is 300 students plus and it continues to grow. She brings a wealth of expertise and a profound understanding of canine psychology to every training session. Nancy is a certified Mental Management Instructor and she coaches dog-handler teams to reach their performance goals in a variety of dog sports.
