Think you’ve got the endurance to hold out longer than the rest? Join us Sunday, October 5th at 3 PM for the ultimate Oktoberfest challenge.
Contest Details:
$15 Entry Fee: Includes the beer in your stein.
Longest Hold Wins: Claim the prize and the bragging rights.
Steins for Sale: Take one home to keep the celebration going.
Whether you’re here to compete or just cheer on the contenders, it’s all about good fun and Oktoberfest spirit. Grab your crew and get ready to lift, laugh, and celebrate with us!
Stein Holding Rules:
1. Canteen Brewhouse will provide 1 liter dimpled glass steins for participants. You may not use your own stein.
2. The stein will be filled with beer up to the 1L line marked on the stein. The steins will be filled just before the competition. Do not drink any of the beer before we begin or you will not be allowed to participate! You can enjoy the beer post competition.
3. The stein must be gripped by the handle only.
4. The thumb may not rest on top of the stein handle; it must rest on the other fingers.
5. The pinkie finger may be held outside of the stein handle. If positioned outside the handle, it may touch the stein handle, but it may not touch the body of the stein.
6. The stein must be gripped so that the front faces directly away from the competitor.
7. Leaning or arching your back is not permitted.
8. The stein must be held out directly in front of the competitor, not out to the side.
9. The arm holding the stein must remain close to parallel with the ground. The stein should be held straight in front of your shoulder. 10. The arm holding the stein must be extended straight with no bending at the elbow.
11. The chest and torso may not be used to support the arm.
12. The hand that isn’t holding the stein must remain at your side and cannot be used to support your body in any way.
13. The beer stein must be returned to Canteen Brewhouse. Steins are available for purchase!
14. There will be one male and one female winner.
15. Competitors may not contact any other structures, objects, or people during the competition.
The judges will be looking for bending in the elbow, beer spilling, leaning, and lowering of the stein. These will be grounds for disqualification. There will be a prize for the individual that holds the proper form for the longest. Every participant can enjoy their beer post competition!
