Jeffrey Martin’s fourth album, Thank God We Left The Garden, is a stark, intimate offering recorded live in a tiny shack behind his Portland home. What began as simple demos evolved into the final record—raw, warm, and strikingly honest. Produced with minimal gear and a deep sense of purpose, the album captures Martin’s voice and guitar in their purest forms, occasionally accented by Jon Neufeld’s tasteful electric guitar work and production support. The songs are full of lyrical depth, spiritual reckoning, and hard-won clarity, reflecting a world unraveling and the solace of staying grounded in the questions. With its stripped-down sound and soulful songwriting, Thank God We Left The Garden is a quietly powerful antidote to a chaotic world, inviting listeners into the beautiful, messy mystery of being human.
ANNA TIVEL
Anna Tivel is a Portland, Oregon-based, internationally touring songwriter who is forever drawn to the quiet stories of ordinary life. The characters and imagery that populate her writing are full of breath and vivid color. With six full-length albums out and a seventh on the way, Anna has been likened to a short story writer and praised by NPR, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and others for her keen observations of the human condition. In fact, Ann Powers of NPR Music had this to say, "Anna Tivel is just one of my absolute favorite living songwriters. Her writing on [Outsiders] is at the same level as Paul Simon when he wrote 'The Boxer' and 'American Tune.'"
