Introduction to Lapidary

Have you ever wanted to cut your own cabochons? In this hands-on lapidary class, expert instructor Jim Hill will guide you through each step of creating beautifully finished cabochons, from start to finish.

Along the way, you’ll learn how to select materials, work safely in the studio, understand mineral properties, and care for lapidary equipment so you feel confident continuing on your own. The class includes plenty of demonstrations and hands-on practice as you learn to cut:

1. Soft stones

2. Medium stones

3. Hard stones

4. Turquoise

All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with several completed cabochons to take home.
