"Hidden Curriculum: 5 Lessons They Don't Teach (and You Really Need)," best practices for survival as an artist today.Majel Connery is a composer, vocalist, and roving musicologist whose immersive, genre-blurring work channels the voice of the natural world. Her music fuses raw vocal power with lush electronics, earning praise from the New York Times (“superb”) and the Wall Street Journal (“thoroughly Schubertian”). She’s written for Grammy-winning choir Chanticleer, premiered Elderflora at Seattle Symphony, and created music for Radiolab. Connery also hosts two podcasts—A Music of Their Own (NPR/CapRadio) and Reverberations (New Amsterdam Records)—and teaches from the road, appearing at colleges across the country wherever art and conversation are needed most.
