Geological Story of the Albuquerque Area at the South Broadway Library

With the Museum temporarily closed for a renovation project, the museum’s team of educators will be bringing natural history into the community with a full slate of public programs in Bernalillo County libraries and community spaces during the fall months. As part of this program, adults are invited to join us at Albuquerque's South Broadway Library for an hour-long exploration of the region's geology!

Jayne Aubele, geologist and adult program educator at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, offers a presentation of Albuquerque’s past, written in stone. Have you wondered why the Sandia Mountains look so unusual? Why are the mountains, river, and volcanoes here? Learn why the Albuquerque area is so unique in this lecture geared towards adults and older students. 60 Minutes, adults and older students welcome.
