December ABQArtwalk Open Studio with Silver RockIT Jewelry

This Friday December 5th is the last ABQArtwalk of the year!
I am excited to share my space with Silver RockIT Jewelry

I met Kristine, metal/silversmith years ago, and have so much love for her and her incredibly cool creations! Her fordite pieces are my personal fave :)

Here's a bit about Kristine/Silver RockIT in her own words:

After receiving my degree from NMHU in Las Vegas, NM, I relocated to Albuquerque and started Silver RockIt Jewelry in 2015. My pieces are inspired by the Earth, space and the cosmos. The designs I create balance a light-hearted whimsy with their exploration and expression of the dark mysteries of outer space and our future. I hand fabricate each piece using sterling silver and an upcycled material called Fordite which comes from the excess build-up of car paint from the manufacturing process. I choose to use Fordite as a way to create unique and interesting works that benefit the Earth by not contributing to the landfill. The added benefit of Jewelry making is the honor of having people include my art in their daily lives as adornment helping them express their personal identity.
