You are not alone in your grief.
Grief is as natural an expression of humanness as joy, and honors the losses of what we loved: family, friends, relationships, situations, parts of ourselves that once knew love, etc. Unexpressed grief can be the source of stress, illness, and disease while the process of grieving can bring balance to the body and create space for joy to recolonize the heart.
We will create a safe and powerful Grief-tending Village together to share in sacred witnessing, body awareness, heart-opening music, and emotional release.
LOGISTICS
This event will be held indoors at the First Unitarian Church, with some possible outdoor activities weather-permitting. Masks are welcome, but not required. Physical wellness is required; please stay home if you're even slightly sick.
The ritual is a closed container, so please plan to arrive promptly and stay until the end.
Participants are encouraged to pack their own dinner to enjoy during the break, as meals will not be provided. A refrigerator is available if needed.
EVENT FACILITATOR
This somatic, guided grief-journey will be facilitated by Josh Fox, a local song-carrier, teacher, and herbalist. A grief-tender in his private practice, he has offered community healing circles for over a decade, inspired by the works of Sobonfu Somé, Frances Weller, and Martin Prechtel. A life-long student of Grief and Chinese Medicine, he has received direct ceremonial training with Laurence Cole and Kedar Brown.
This journey will be supported with live musical accompaniment and supported by other trained grief-tenders.

A WORD FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS
"This was one of the most healing and transformative experiences I've ever had. To be held in such a safe container while also bearing witness to the depths of grief in others, is a deeply humbling experience. I've been hiding my grief since I was 10 years old. For the first time in my life I felt like my grief had a place to be seen, heard and held. That presence, support and unconditional acceptance from strangers changed my life. I feel more connected to myself, my emotions and to the human experience. Even if you feel like you have never experienced loss in your life, this ritual will help you heal parts of you that you don't even know are hurting." --J.J. Asheville, NC
"This work is the real deal. Fox creates a safe, sacred, and spacious container... to connect to the deepest parts of your inner self. Exploring grief through this ritual healed me in ways that words cannot.“ - A.V., Gainesville, FL
