🌍 From One Man’s Mission to a Global Movement 🌍
In 1955, a young Dutch missionary named Andrew van der Bijl (later known simply as Brother Andrew) carried just a few Bibles in his suitcase to Poland. Behind the Iron Curtain, he discovered a desperate Church—hungry for the Word of God and in need of encouragement.
It was there that God spoke to him through Revelation 3:2:
“Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die…”
What began as one man’s obedience grew into Open Doors, a ministry that has, for more than 60 years, smuggled millions of Bibles, trained thousands of pastors, and supported persecuted Christians around the world.
This Sunday, we are honoured to welcome Marius Oosthuizeen from Open Doors as our Guest Speaker at Free Chapel Alberton. 🙌 Come and be inspired by the story of courage, faith, and a ministry that continues to impact the global Church.
