Class two of two part series: All About Blueberries. See full details below!
Do you ❤️ the idea of growing your own fruit to eat and enjoy? Have you planted trees and bushes and watched in such anticipation the little buds appear, the pollinators begin to work, and find yourself so excited…only to come away with a small harvest? I have. It’s so disappointing.
I was so thankful to meet Jake Niven at the Locust Farmer’s Market a few years ago. He has such an extensive and knowledge about fruit trees and blueberry bushes, such a love for plants and people, and has helped us learn to fertilize, prune, and tend the edibles growing on our property.
Last year we had our first “All About Blueberries” class and it was so helpful and the feedback was wonderful! He wanted to dive more into pruning of the fruit trees, but we were over the time…so, this year, we’ve come up with a two-part class to cover both topics in detail.
Valentine’s Day is the day Jake keeps in mind every year to prune his own blueberry bushes and fruit trees, so why not? Let’s ❤️ on our plants and join together on Saturday, February, 14th to learn “All About Pruning” and again on Saturday, March 14 to learn “All About Blueberries!”
We will meet at the plant nursery at 9am on both Saturdays and classes will be an hour and a half each. Each participant will receive:
Information packet
Hands on learning and experience
Class instruction
Two different varieties of compatible blueberry bushes (selections based on availability)
Class fee: $50 per participant
More varieties and bushes will be available for purchase. Blueberry bushes will be distributed on March 14th class day.
