Tales from a 225-mile Circumnavigation of the SF Bay Water Trail by Kayak!

Join Love the Bulb and the owners and guides of Point Reyes Adventure Co., Liz Wilhelm and Dallas Smith, as they recount their 225-mile circumnavigation of the San Francisco Bay Area Water Trail, completed in just 13 days (11 days of paddling). Earlier this year, they became the first to complete the full circumnavigation of the Water Trail, a journey recognized by the trail’s developers as a proof of concept for the vision of a continuous, paddle-accessible route around the Bay.

Join us at the Albany Bulb Carlo Ferretti Cove (tiered concrete mini-amphitheater near the beach) at 1pm on Sunday, October 19th, to hear them share the planning, logistics, challenges, and unforgettable moments from their journey, highlighting both the natural beauty and cultural complexity of the Bay Area’s waterways. They will discuss:

• Planning and logistics for a 225-mile kayak circumnavigation
• Safety, gear, and navigation tips for long-distance paddling
• Ecological and cultural highlights along the San Francisco Bay
• Reflections on teamwork, endurance, and connecting with nature as well as other stories from the journey.

Liz Wilhelm and Dallas Smith, each bring 15 years of guiding experience and credentials as Level 4 ACA Instructors and Certified California Naturalists. Their company, Point Reyes Adventure Co. is an outdoor adventure company specializing in guided tours and high-quality gear rentals in the Point Reyes area.
