Kris Nelson is a multi award winning singer songwriter based in WA’s Great Southern. Drawing inspiration from esteemed artists such as Passenger, Bright Eyes, The Lumineers and Zach Bryan. Nelson has delicately crafted a sound that captures the essence of folk’s heartfelt storytelling with indie rock’s captivating energy.
With over 15 years of experience under his belt, Nelson’s original music has allowed him to tour as far as Canada, The US and many times around Australia.
Picking up a couple of WAM’s prestigious Song of The Year awards helped cement him into the WA music scene. Landing supports with Australian heavy weights such as Josh Pyke, Kav Temperley, Alex Lloyd, Karnivool, John Butler and The Rubens.
His debut singles Clocks and Demons were released in 2023/ 2024, which will be followed up by multiple singles and an album release in 2025. Four tracks from the upcoming record have already been nominated for multiple awards including: Best Regional Artist, Best Folk Song, Best Folk Artist and most recently a top 5 finalist for the upcoming WAM Song Of The Year state wide songwriting competion (2025).
