✨ AARC OCTOBER RALLY
Our October rally is our annual rally of all rallies. We have group lessons with the wonderful Amanda Pritchard, as well as day two of Sue Buckley’s Working Equitation Clinic. There will also be a car boot sale and raffle prizes to be won. Janine and Jill will be our rally coordinators this month.
Please read Amanda’s detailed descriptions of the three options for her classes. The time slots are 10:30am, 11:30am, and 1:15pm, and will be allocated based on bookings. Amanda’s lessons will be focused on helping you prepare for our December 14th Dressage Encouragement Day.
RALLY SCHEDULE
✨ 9am onwards, Free Morning Tea in the kitchen - compliments of our wonderful club committee and available all morning.
✨ Group Lessons with Amanda in the sand arena at 10:30, 11:30, & 1:15.
✨ Free Activity - 9:30am to 12pm Water Jump and X Country course.
✨10am to 12pm - Car boot sale $15 per bay and booking is essential.
✨ 12 noon - Shared Lunch - bring a plate if joining us for lunch.
✨ 9am - 4pm - Free Fence sitting Sue Buckley’s Working Equitation Clinic.
⭐️ GROUP LESSONS - with Amanda Pritchard $50 per rider.
Amanda is a favourite with our members and she’s offering three brilliant options to choose from this month. Bookings are on a first in best dressed basis, so please let us know your first and second option and if you’d prefer a morning or afternoon class. We’ll do our best to accomodate everyone. Please note that class times will depend on bookings.
Option 1.
TRANSITIONS WITH PRECISION
(Ideal for horses that are not necessarily responding quickly to the riders aids and inconsistent with their responses to go and stop.)
• Focus on Smooth, timely transitions between and within gaits with balance and rhythm.
• Walk-halt-walk, trot-walk -trot, transitions accurately and improving canter departs.
• Quality of the gaits improving horse responsiveness to the aids and keeping a rhythm and tempo set by the rider rather than the horse simply loosing balance and speeding up or slowing down. Rider being able to feel and count the strides.
Option 2.
ACCURACY & ARENA GEOMETRY FOR RIDING DRESSAGE TESTS
(Ideal for improving your dressage test marks or an introduction to dressage and learning tests for the less experienced rider)
• Focus on Riding precise lines and figures like the movements set in a dressage test.
• Ring craft when riding dressage tests and how to increase your marks
• Exercises: Correct 20m, 15m, and 10m circles, square halts, riding corners, serpentines, shallow loops, leg-yields. etc
• Ride part of a dressage test, receive feedback
• Will be geared towards the individual level of each rider eg prep, prelim, novice test etc
Option 3.
OBSTACLE COURSE / CONFIDENCE CHALLENGE
(Geared towards riders that want to focus on co ordination and fun with their horse and challenging themselves to some simple exercises requiring good responses to the aids) Suitable for any level
• Focus on Building rider confidence, steering and accuracy.Exercises can be simple or ridden with a higher degree of difficulty depending on horse/rider level.
• Features: Cones, poles, weaving, side steps
• Focus: Balance, coordination, and fun!
• Partnership between horse and rider to complete task

✨ We understand that many of you don’t want formal lessons and come along just to socialise and have fun with your horse. So we offer a range of options with something for everyone. This month we’re setting up the water jump so you can enjoy the X Country Course.
✨ As always, you’re welcome to ride out on the X Country course, play on the permanent AEC trail horse obstacles, practice your own dressage test in the sand arena, slip out the back gate onto the Stidwell bridle trail, or simply do your own thing. 💫
SHARED LUNCH @ 12 noon.
This is a great opportunity to socialise with other horse folk. Please bring a plate of your favourite food to share if joining us for lunch.
⭐️ MONTHLY BOOKINGS:
All classes are $50 each and must be booked by the Wednesday before and paid for by 5pm on the Thursday before each rally. You will be notified about your class allocations via email by Friday evening.
✨ Please Note: If there are too few registrations by the Wednesday before the rally, then instructors may be cancelled. So please book early to avoid disappointment. 🐎💫
