On your way to the highlight of watching the turtles lay their eggs and hatch, you’ll stop at Wadi Shabb, the wadi with the waterfall inside a cave!
This trip is for adults, families and kids who want to experience the magic of Oman for a weekend!
This trip requires driving to Oman on Friday night, making our way to Wadi Shabb on Saturday morning, then heading to Ras al Jinz for the night on Saturday. Turtle watching will happen on Saturday night at 9 pm at the Turtle Reserve. If you really loved it you can go out again at 5 am just before sunrise, Sunday, we will drive to Wadi Hawar for a similar hike and swim through more pools and al Jinz before returning to Muscat by 4 pm.
We will stay the first night in the Crowne Plaza Hotel before we head south early Saturday morning. Saturday night we will stay at the Turtle Beach Resort so you will be able to spend time on the beach after arrival on Saturday. Saturday is NO MOON which is very good for the turtles, who are disoriented from the full moon, Bring a flashlight with a ‘red’ light as you cannot use the flashlight with the turtles! We plan this trip for the end of August only as the turtles lay their eggs in the summer, but the majority of the hatching starts late-august - October. Wadi Shabb and Wadi Hawar will be full of summer monsoon rains and though it of course is hot, you will not even notice as you will wet the whole time!
