Mistress Dispeller at The Nightlight (Akron, OH) 🎬

Three's a crowd. 💔 MISTRESS DISPELLER, a 2024 American-Chinese documentary film (yes, you read that right, a DOCUMENTARY), follows a woman in China who hires a professional to go undercover and break up her husband's affair.

Teacher Wang works as a 'mistress dispeller', hired to break up affairs by any means necessary. Through one of her cases, we explore the ways class, capital, and culture collide to shape romantic relationships in contemporary China.
