MCC Creation Care Community Event: Woodland Restoration

Partnering with Steve Thomas of Mennonite Men and Lydia Martin, Director of Community Engagement of Let’s Go 1-2-3, Mennonite Central Committee invites you to a morning of education and hands-on volunteer work in the MCC Woodland.

Learn how to identify and remove invasive plants that threaten local ecosystems and help restore balance by planting native trees. The morning includes one hour on the MCC Dining Hall veranda to connect with these organizations and one another, followed by two hours of team-based work in the woodland.

Free and open to the public. All ages welcome (children must be accompanied by a supervising adult).

What to bring and wear: Gloves and a water bottle. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress in layers for outdoor work. Light refreshments will be provided.
