Join us for the next installment of the Forgotten History Forum Series presented by FirstEnergy Foundation, and in partnership with our exclusive media partner, PBS Western Reserve.
“Sole of Akron”, a dynamic forum hosted by Akron Sneaker Academy, will explore the rich history of sneaker culture and Akron’s deep-rooted connection to basketball, innovation, and industry.
From Chuck Taylor and Akron’s recreational basketball leagues to the legacy of P.F. Flyers, Lucky Shoes, and LeBron’s signature collection, Akron has long been a catalyst for sneaker culture. This event will celebrate our history of community-driven innovation and explore how we can channel that same spirit to shape the future of the polymer industry and beyond.
Be part of the conversation as we bridge the past, present, and future—highlighting the intersection of sneakers, culture, and industry in the city that helped shape it all.
Please note the venue change for this forum, it will be held at the Ed Davis Community Center.
