About the event

Baroque Bistro: Baklava Bash
Apollo’s Fire and Jeannette Sorrell take you centuries back to a time when the different peoples of Jerusalem lived together in relative peace. In this musical tour of the four quarters of the Old City, the ancient tradition of Hakawati – Middle Eastern storytelling – comes to life alongside ancient Arab and Jewish songs. Phenomenal oud master Ronnie Malley weaves tales of his Palestinian ancestors, while Israeli-American musician Daphna Mor evokes the ancient Middle Eastern landscape with her haunting wind instrument, the ney. These two longtime musical soul mates join Tina Bergmann on hammered dulcimer, and Apollo’s Fire friends on cello and percussion. – An uplifting musical prayer for peace in our time.

“An ensemble at the height of their powers, making vital statements about the world…”
– Seen & Heard International (UK)

Doors open at 6:45pm for drinks and light kitchen fare.
