DRIFF Day Two's Feature film is Canada's official selection for the 2026 Academy Awards. It follows Ali, a Turkish professor recently returned from the U.S., who finds himself caught between his wife’s unspoken frustrations, his father’s authoritarian presence, and the weight of his mother’s mysterious death. When an enigmatic gardener named Reza enters Ali’s life, his world starts to shift and the lines between reality, memory, and justice begin to blur. Khatami delivers, with striking visuals, a haunting and layered exploration of toxic masculinity, and a provocative portrait of a man unraveling.
