In the month of August we bring you two evocative short films that explore the deep connections between indigenous communities their environments and cultural survival.
A Leopard’s Tribe
In the forests of Mumbai tribal leaders Prakash and Pramila Bhoir rise against rapid urban expansion to protect their sacred land and the leopard they revere. This is a story of resistance resilience and reclaiming leadership in the heart of a growing metropolis.
Machi
In Nepal’s Terai region members of the Tharu community prepare for the Maghi festival reflecting on lost traditions and disappearing fish through a deeply personal poem by Sangita Guruwa. A moving portrait of cultural memory and environmental change.
