Program Description:
Ready for a new dining room table?
Students will make full-size dining room tables. Each table will be made to fit your home. The size will be determined by the size of your room (max table size 7’ x 3’). You will pick the leg style that fits you. We have several leg design options that are included in the price, or some that can be purchased for an up-charge. We would prefer that you bring a friend to help you with the build, but we will help you with the heavy lifting if you'd like to work by yourself. You may bring 1 extra person for no additional charge. Table tops will be chosen from a variety of hardwoods, and the legs will be pine. Maximum table size is 7’ x 3’. With a maximum of 5 students with partners, you'll receive personalized instruction in a fully equipped woodworking college.
Learning Objectives:
Learn proper safe use of many machines, including the jointer, planer, and table saw
Obtain skills to confidently glue a tabletop together and plane it flat
Learn proper joinery for the table to last a lifetime
Build a strong framed structure with legs and aprons to support a tabletop
Discuss long-lasting fishing techniques for tables with heavy use
After completing this 2-day class, students will take home a complete dining room table
