Getting started
Begin at the Kangaroo Island Visitor Information Centre in Penneshaw, where you’ll be fitted with a wetsuit, mask, snorkel, and fins. After a safety briefing, board a 28-seater vessel and meet your guide, who will outline the day’s adventure before heading out to sea.

Bring a valid photo ID for seniors, concessions, and students to present before boarding.
Bring a warm jacket to wear after swimming, as water temperatures are typically 14–15°C.
Arrive at the Kangaroo Island Visitor Information Centre, 43 Howard Drive, Penneshaw, at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
All necessary snorkelling equipment (wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins) is provided, but you may bring an extra layer for warmth if you are sensitive to cold (children under 14 are recommended to wear 2 wetsuits).
Food is not permitted onboard unless given prior approval.
Alcohol, drugs, and any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited on the vessel.
Infants (children 2 years and under) are not permitted to participate in the swim.
Pets are not allowed, except for registered service animals.
The use of personal electronic devices in the water is not permitted due to safety equipment in use.
This experience is not wheelchair accessible.
The activity is not suitable for those with a pacemaker or who are pregnant due to electronic devices used in the water.
Participants must have basic swimming ability and sufficient upper and lower body strength to hold ropes and use the ladder to re-board the vessel.
Children must be at least 9 years old to participate in the swim; children aged 8 and above may join coastal snorkelling.
Wetsuits are compulsory for all participants while in the water.
Wildlife interactions are not guaranteed; the experience may involve swimming with dolphins, seals, or coastal snorkelling depending on conditions. No refunds are provided if wildlife is not present.
Hot water showers and waterproof jackets are available onboard to warm up after swimming.
No transfers to or from the meeting point are included; please arrange your own transport.
The experience takes place in open water; reasonable swimming ability is required.
