O.D. Greene Lumber & Hardware is gearing up to bring back the annual pie contest for Charity, Saturday, October 18, 2025. Once again, we are inviting members of the community to bake and enter a pie to be judged by a distinguished panel of pie critics, who will select a winner from each category. The four categories to be judged are: (1) Apple Pie, (2) Pumpkin Pie (3) Berry/Fruit Pie (4) Cream Pie. One winner will be chosen from each category. Each winner will be awarded a $100.00 check made out to the charity of their choice.
Our judges will rate the entries according to flavor, crust, texture, originality, and presentation. Pie entries have been fancy in the past. Let us see what this year brings!
After the winners are announced and rewarded, we will auction off all of the pies (minus one that the judges will share) and all the proceeds will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network. Every pie benefits someone. Every pie is a winner!
RULES OF THE 2025 HOMEMADE PIE CONTEST FOR CHARITY:

2.All pies must be in disposable pie dishes. Remember that we will be auctioning all pies after the contest and we don’t want to lose your favorite pie dish. (Feel free to set your disposable dish in something fancier for “presentation”, but please be responsible for keeping track of accessories.
3.We do not have the facilities to store pies that require refrigeration or freezing before judging. There is a lapse of time between sign-in and judging. A frozen pie loses its beauty when it begins to thaw.
4.Contestants may enter more than one pie, but individuals will only win in one category.
5.Pies must be signed in at O.D. Greene’s in Adams, by 10:30a.m. with judging taking place at 11:00 a.m. Auction will start right after winners are announced.
