BIG CAR
JULY 25TH - 7:00 PM START TIME
Rules And Regulations:
Car must be registered and inspected 30 minutes before the start of show, or you will not run.
*You must be 16 years of age or older on the day of the event to compete.
A. Each driver must fill out an entry blank. Each additional pit crew member will be required to purchase a pit pass the day of the event.
B. All rules and regulations must be observed and followed. Track operators and promoters reserve the right to approve or reject all entries.
C. Only drivers will be permitted on the track.
D. No cars permitted on the track before the heat they are to participate in.
E. Members of the auto demolition derby are not employees of the track operators or the promoter of the demolition derby.
F. No alcoholic beverages allowed. Drivers that are or have been drinking will be disqualified.
G. All drivers must be present one-half hour before scheduled start time.
H. All drivers must wear closed toed shoes, long sleeved shirt, and long pants.
I. Safety belts and helmets must be worn.
J. Drivers may maneuver forward or backward. No deliberately ramming the driver’s door.
K. Time limits will be set by the judges. If a driver does not hit a live car within the time limit, it will lead to disqualification.
L. Driver and car qualify, you must run the same car you qualify within the feature event
Participating Regulations
1. Any American made, stock hardtop automobile or station wagon is allowed. No trucks, jeeps, etc. Will be allowed. No diesels, 4-wheel drives or Chrysler imperials. All vehicles must appear stock.
2. 1974 and newer Chrysler imperials will be permitted.
3. Cars must appear stock, unless noted below.
4. All glass, plastic trim, outside door handles, chrome, fiber glass and rubber bumper cover and rear seats must be removed.
5. All anti-freeze and freon must be drained prior to arriving at the track.
6. All airbags must be removed.
7. Batteries may be moved to the passenger front floor must be secured and covered.
Fuel system
8. Stock gas tanks must be removed from under the car. No stock tanks permitted inside the car, metal or plastic boat tanks, or pre- approved fuel cells must be securely mounted in the back seat area of the car using metal strapping. Gas tank protectors are permitted, must be 3 inches from any metal. The max size of the protector 30x30 box max from seat bar with no extra metal added (30 inches is 30 inches) must be 3 inches away from all sheet metal from the start of the show. This rule applies to both fresh built and pre ran cars. Absolutely no exceptions
9. Tanks must have a fuel line type fitting (no gas cans). Electric fuel pump switch must be clearly labeled on/off and must be easily accessible to emergency personnel.
10. Gas tanks must have a cover between the gas tank and the driver’s compartment.
11. Electric fuel pumps are permitted. They must have a visible switch for track personnel in case of fire.
Tires
12. Any DOT or forklift tire may be tubed, doubled, or loaded. Tractor, skid loader, or snow tires are permitted, but NO paddle type tires.
13. Factory steel or aluminum wheels only. There may be weld in centers modifications. 3/8 of an inch thick, 7 inches across max! No other modifications may be done. ** NO SOLID DONUT FORKLIFT TIRE OR WHEEL**
Body
14. You may bolt the hood to the inner bracing in 12 spots, using 3/8 bolts with one inch washer max. No other bracing allowed to the hood. If it did not come factory stock, you may not add it.
15. Hoods, trunks and tailgates cannot be welded shut. You may use chain, wire or bolted in 6 spots maximum on each. (All thread may be used no larger than 1 inch in diameter) with a 4x4 inch max flat plate. May weld a 1/4x2”x4” angle on hood/top of fender with (1) bolt per angle set only
16. No other bracing may be added to support all thread.
17. Hoods must be open for inspection. Must have (2) 8” holes in hood in case of fires
18. Doors; must be chained, wired or cabled shut (4) spots max. Except for driver’s door. Only the driver’s side door rear seam only can be welded. No bolting doors
* Doors; able to weld (3) 3in plates (3x3in max) per vertical door seam.
19. Trunks may be tucked or, canoed but not wedged. Quarter panels must remain vertical. Roof to deck bars may not be used. If using all thread one threaded rod per hole. In trunk lid. If threaded rod goes through two spots of trunk lid it counts as two spots (6) spots on trunk lid max
20. Station wagons must stay station wagons; you may not turn it into a sedagon by cutting the roof
21. All sunroofs must be covered with metal
22. Body mounts must remain stock. You may replace it with 1-inch max spacer or remove it and bolted flat. With the exception of the front rad support you may use a 3’’ max spacer.
23. Seat, dash bar will be permitted ALL CAGE MATERIAL MUST REMAIN INSIDE THE DOOR PILARS (4” inches max round door to door or post to post only may only be connected on both sides. 6x2 ` c ` channel or 4-inch pipe. Max! (No kickers anywhere). Roof chains may be used from frame to roof (two per side max). Seat Bar can be max 6” from seat. Halo bars are permitted but only can be welded to the seat bar no kickers anywhere. May be bolted in two spots only to the roof.
Suspension
24. Rear ends may be locked. They also may be swapped from another make/model no truck rears no leaf over conversions. No reinforcing of rear ends of any kind. Rears can be chained but the suspension must move. Pinion brakes ok (no axle savers) must use stock/oem upper/lower control arms no aftermarket of any kind may change length of stock ones
25. Suspensions must move with one man’s effort. No reinforcing of any kind. Coil springs may be secured, leaf springs maybe clamped (3) clamps per side. No reinforcing of suspension parts of any kind. Tie rods must remain unaltered no aftermarket spindles or welding of a arms no welding of sway bar to frame or cradle
Bumpers
26. Bumpers may be bolted solid or welded. Bumper plungers may be welded but bumper shocks may not be welded to the frame also bumpers must remain in stock position. A max 6x6 ¼ inch thick flat plate may be welded to the front of frame to mount your bumper one (4) per frame horn. No kickers or extra materials may be added. If you hard nose, you may not use a bumper shock (1 or the other) bumper brackets maybe welded 6” back from front of frame will be measured
27. Bumpers may be swapped between makes/models, but they must be stock, passenger car bumpers. May not exceed the width of the car. May be seam welded but must be able to see through side to side. No filling, stuffing of bumpers. No reinforcing of any kind all bumpers must be chained or wired on, no exceptions!
* SMW Light bumper may be used. No seam welding. No capping of ends, must be able to see through side to side.
* 4x4 1/4 in max box tubing or pipe may be used. No wider than center of tire to center of tire.
Or 2x6 1/4. Must be hollow, no end caps.
No points or any extra metal to be added.
Frame
28. If you notch/vee the frame no re-welding it shut. All trailer hitches must be removed.
29. Frame seams can be welded with one single pass 3/8 width max
30. Front frames may not be tilted using any method.
31. Frame swaps are not permitted. Rust repair maybe made using the same thickness metal as the frame. You may only go 1 inch passed the rust hole you are repairing (you must take a picture of repair work before patching) will be scoped
32. 2003 and newer fomo must run stock front suspension. Must run stock cradle for that year/model car
Engine
33. If running a stock fan, the hood cannot be cut out above it.
34. Engine swaps are acceptable. Engine mounts may be welded, chained or bolted solid. No engine /pulley/dist. Protectors/ or full cradles. May use lower engine cradle only, (2) mounting locations to frame only, (steel bell housings are permitted for safety, no skid plates of any kind) if running a car that is 2003 or newer, Ford Motor company, you can either run the frame cradle or the engine cradle. One or the other, not both
35. Sliders shafts may be used
36. Shifting mechanism may be altered.
37. The gas/brake pedal may be altered.
38. Exhaust may exit through the hood (must be ten inches above the carburetor).
39. To make inspection faster and easier on you, please follow all the rules.
40. All decisions by judges are final.
41. This even is composed of a feature only.
