In this open-play event day, we will have a table or two devoted to narrative scenarios. Anyone playing in the store, either open-play or with the special scenario, will be entered into a raffle for prizes!
Mission 1 – Stem the tide
The Tyranid invasion has begun. You must slow down the swarms of creatures bearing down on your location to allow for your forces to bolster a proper defense.
Mission Rules
• The invading Tyranids are the attackers in this scenario. Everyone else is the defender.
• Defenders go first in this mission
• Whenever a Tyranid endless multitude unit is destroyed place a copy of that unit into strategic reserves
• Defender starts with an army that is 500 points or less. You are not required to bring a character
• This mission ends at the end of Battle Round 3
For the defender to complete the mission, perform one of the following objectives
• K*ll 50 models
• K*ll all synapse models (6 models)
• Survive 3 battle rounds against the tide
For the Tyranids to complete their, they must complete one of the following objectives
• Destroy the defender’s gate
o Gate stats
Toughness: 6
Save: 3+
Wounds: 20
• K*ll all the defenders’ models in their army
Terrain Layout
• The Tyranid side of the board will have light terrain, so hills, trees, or scattered rocks
• The defender’s side will have medium to heavy terrain, so a few buildings with two of the buildings joined by a crate to represent the gate to the base
• Played on a 44” x 30” board due to the size of the forces
• This is meant to be played on Dawn of War deployment
Mission 2 – Collapse the tunnels
The Tyranids have changed tactics. Rather than swarming the gates they are burrowing under. As the defender you must collapse the burrowing tunnels, so more Tyranids do not swarm in.
Mission Rules
• The invading Tyranids are the attackers in this scenario. Everyone else is the defender.
• Attackers go first in this mission
• Burrowing tunnels in this scenario are marked by an objective marker and control of the burrowing tunnel is determined like an objective marker
• There will be four burrowing tunnels set up at the start of the game. A Mawloc or Trygon will start the game deployed on each of the burrowing tunnels.
• For each burrowing tunnel a Tyranid player controls at the start of their reinforcement step, they may add a new unit to their army from the list below. When doing so the models must be wholly within 6” of the borrowing tunnel. They can be set up within engagement range of enemy models and count as making a charge move if they do so.

• Defender starts with an army that is 1000 points or less. You are not required to bring a character
• The mission ends at the end of Battle Round 4
For the defender to complete the mission, perform one of the following objectives
• K*ll all the Marlow and Trygon models
• Collapse all the burrowing tunnels
o To do this you must do one of the following:
Have a unit perform an action within 8” of a burrowing token this action completes at the end of your turn. This is to simulate the unit throwing in a bundle of dynamite to collapse the tunnel
Control a burrowing tunnel at the end of the Tyranid players turn
For the Tyranids to complete the mission, they must complete one of the following objectives
• K*ll all the defenders’ models in their army
• Have three or more burrowing tunnels at the end of the battle
• Have three or more of the Mawlocs or Trygon models alive at the end of the battle
The scenario ends in the draw if neither the Tyranids nor Defenders complete their objectives
Terrain Layout
• City fight terrain
• The Tyranids will start in the middle of the table on each of their burrowing tunnels
• The defenders will deploy on the corners of the board
• Played on a 44” x 60” board
Mission 3 – Cut off the head
The Tyranids at the gate have rallied while you were busy dealing with the burrowing tunnels and have broken through. To have a chance to survive this onslaught you must K*ll the Hive Tyrant leading the swarm.
Mission Rules
• The invading Tyranids are the attackers in this scenario. Everyone else is the defender.
• Attackers go first in this mission
• The Tyranids will start with a 2000-point army with Swarmlord as its warlord
• Defender starts with an army that is 1000 points or less. You are not required to bring a character
• There will be 5 objectives set up on the board
For the defender to complete the mission, perform one of the following objectives
• K*ll the Swarmlord
• At least two objectives remain at the end of the game
For the Tyranids to win, they must complete one of the following objectives
• K*ll all the defenders’ models in their army
• Destroy 4 or more objectives on the board at the end of the game
o To destroy an objective, they must perform an action within range of an objective marker they control. That action completes at the end of the Battle Round or the end of the game whichever comes first if they still control the objective
o When an objective is destroyed remove it from the game.
