Join Grain Theory for Singles Sing Along Brunch, a Valentine’s Day singles mixer and brunch party in partnership with All Kind Animal Initiative — Abilene’s local animal shelter and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit doing meaningful work for pets and the people who love them. Even better: 100% of ticket sales from this event will be donated directly to All Kind, so yes, your brunch plans are also doing good.
While this event features a sing-along (because it’s fun), let’s be very clear: you do not have to sing. This is a singles mixer first and foremost. You’re just as welcome to come eat brunch, sip mimosas, hang out with friends, people-watch, and maybe meet your future Valentine — all without ever touching a microphone or belting a chorus. Singing is encouraged. Existing quietly with a mimosa is also highly respected.
We’re bringing back brewery favorite DJ June 2 the Moon, spinning nothing but the best songs to sing along to — Wicked hits, Broadway favorites, today’s most singable pop, and classic throwbacks from the 80s and 90s. Whether you’re singing at full volume or just vibing in your seat, the soundtrack does the heavy lifting.
How it works
This is a 21+ event, and ID is required at the door to purchase your wristband. When you arrive, you’ll grab a $10 wristband (your ticket in and your donation):
Pink wristband: I’m single and open to mingling
Blue wristband: I’m not single or I’m single but just here to hang out, support my friends, and enjoy brunch (elite wingman energy)
No guessing. No awkward assumptions. Just clear, respectful vibes.
To help people move around and connect without the pressure of walking up to a stranger and saying something terrifying, we’ll also have People Bingo — a casual, low-stakes way to start conversations with prompts like:
Find someone with a brother
Find someone not wearing socks
Find someone wearing red
Find someone whose favorite color is orange
Turn in your completed card for a chance to win fun prizes. Worst case scenario: you chatted with a few new people and learned someone’s favorite color. Devastating.
Why All Kind
All Kind Animal Initiative works to create a more compassionate Abilene for both people and pets, focusing on education, outreach, and real solutions that keep animals in loving homes. Their programs include accessible spay/neuter services, vaccination and microchipping clinics, TNR cat programs, foster support, and resources that help families keep their pets instead of surrendering them.
By showing up, eating brunch, and maybe meeting someone new, you’re directly supporting that mission. Bob Barker would absolutely approve.
Brunch & Drinks
Our full brunch menu will be available, along with full-service espresso coffee, and yes — $5 mimosas will be flowing. Stay the whole time, pop in for a bit, or leave early if Valentine’s Day starts feeling like… a lot.
This event is open to singles and their friends — married, engaged, dating, happily single, or just here for the vibes. Come for the brunch, stay for the music, and leave knowing you did something fun, low-pressure, and genuinely good for the community.
No speed dating. No forced singing.
Just brunch, music, mingling, and a room full of people doing Valentine’s Day their own way.
