MK Hardy & Lyndsey Croal - meet the authors

If you are a fan of spooky Scottish stories, come along to meet, chat & get your books signed by three Scottish authors coming visit us at But n' Ben Books.

MK Hardy is the pen name for two geeky women living and writing together in Scotland.

Their debut Sapphic Historical Gothic novel, The Needfire, released in the UK in July 2025 from Solaris.

They were mentees in the Pitch Wars 2020-21 programme, and mentors for Queery Fest 2022.

Joining them is Lyndsey Croal, a Scottish author of strange and speculative fictio. She writes SF, horror & folklore, with work published in over eighty magazines and anthologies, including Apex, Analog SF, and Weird Tales. She’s a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Awardee, British Fantasy Award Finalist, and former Hawthornden Fellow.
