“The Outsider” follows a shy but effective lieutenant governor who unexpectedly inherits the governorship after a scandal. When his first press conference goes disastrously wrong, his allies rush to salvage the administration.
The cast is composed of three females and four males: the incoming governor (Ned Newley), his protective assistant (Dave Riley), a professional pollster on his staff (Paige Caldwell), an overbearing political advisor who thinks he can rescue the new governor (Arthur Vance), an office temp whose energetic good will barely hides her utter incompetence (Louise Peakes), an inquisitive TV news reporter (Rachel Parsons), and her down-to-earth camera assistant (A.C. Petersen).
