"Den Lille Dør" is an Ambient/Jazz project, born out of the idea of creating a new kind of immersive live experience blending photos, field recordings, music and improvisation. Andrea writes:
“I take photos around Denmark to capture its beauty and essence, which I collect into sequences. From these I write tailored soundtracks that are executed live by my band, while the slides are projected on a big screen. To enhance the experience we include recordings of sounds, leaves, animals and natural elements from the direct source of the pictures, creating a new kind of "geographical music". The result is a deep, complete dive into the concept of interaction between loneliness, man, God and nature settled within the beautiful landscapes of Nordjylland. Since the music describes this country all song titles are in Danish; however, to create a deeper connection throughout the live, it's important that each tune gets explained in English to make the audience captured into seeing what I see as a foreigner in this country.”
Andrea Sciusco is drummer and composer from Italy, graduated in Jazz Drums at Siena Jazz University. He moved to Aalborg to complete his Masters Studies and he fell in love with the country and its beauties. Andrea has always composed cinematic music and Denmark has given him so much that he felt it natural to give something back:
“This is my "restitution", a gift to everything I have been receiving from this amazing
place. I suffer from two diseases on my wrists that don't allow me to play the drums in a
conventional way and to practice it either. Therefore I had to research my expression
into art as a bigger whole.”
