Halloween 2026 Celebrations In Savannah

Savannah already has the right setting for Halloween: cobblestone streets, old cemeteries, moss-covered squares and plenty of local ghost stories. In October, that atmosphere turns into a full month of pumpkin activities, costume events, cemetery tours and community celebrations. Halloween 2026 in Savannah has options for different ages, from creative afternoons for kids to themed runs and after-dark history experiences. Whether you want something spooky, active or family-friendly, the city and nearby communities offer plenty to do before Halloween night arrives.

Fun Things To Do In Savannah On Halloween 2026

Halloween activities around Savannah go well beyond ghost tours. You can explore Bonaventure Cemetery after hours, take part in a dog-friendly costume run, paint a Halloween pumpkin or dress as a superhero for a community 5K. There are also adult-only nightlife events in the historic district. With events spread throughout October, there are useful options for families, runners, history fans and anyone looking for something seasonal to do around Savannah.

1) Bonaventure Cemetery: 3 Nights of Halloween - Night 1 Mischief Night | Bonaventure Cemetery

Few places fit Halloween quite like Bonaventure Cemetery after the gates would normally close. Happening on October 30, 2026 from 5 PM to 8 PM, Bonaventure Cemetery: 3 Nights of Halloween - Night 1 Mischief Night is a three-hour storytelling experience led by Shannon Scott and Megan Morgan. The evening explores Savannah stories involving secret societies, local rituals, bootleggers, crimes and the cemetery's connection to Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Guests also receive seasonal poster art and Halloween treats, making this one of the more history-focused Halloween experiences in Savannah.

2) Wag-O-Ween 5K and Fun Run! | Howe2Run

Dogs get their own Halloween outing at Wag-O-Ween 5K and Fun Run!, happening on October 3, 2026 at Howe2Run in Richmond Hill. Participants can choose between a 5K and a one-mile route, with the option to run or walk with their own dog. Some participants can also request to be paired with an available foster dog. The run begins at 8 AM, followed by an after-party running until noon. Proceeds support local animal rescue work, so the morning combines a casual race with the wider Wag-O-Ween mission.

3) Vampire Bar Crawl (Savannah, GA)

Vampire Bar Crawl (Savannah, GA) takes place on October 23, 2026 and is a 21+ adult nightlife event in Savannah's historic district. The event uses a vampire theme and takes place across several nightlife venues over the course of the evening.

4) 14th Annual CASA Ogeechee Superhero Run | Guyton Civic Center

Halloween morning starts with capes, costumes and a run through Guyton. Happening on October 31, 2026 at 8 AM, the 14th Annual CASA Ogeechee Superhero Run begins at Guyton Civic Center and includes both a 5K and a one-mile fun run. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero or wear another Halloween costume. The event benefits CASA Ogeechee through Child Advocacy Services SEGA, giving families and runners a more active way to spend Halloween morning while supporting a local cause.

5) Paint a Pumpkin at Henny Penny Cafe! | Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe

For something creative rather than spooky, Paint a Pumpkin at Henny Penny Cafe! takes place on October 11, 2026 from 2 PM to 4 PM at Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe in Savannah. Kids ages 10 and up can paint their own flat wooden Halloween pumpkin with supplies, Halloween stencils and guided instruction included. No painting experience is needed, and participants can make their design as spooky, funny or colorful as they like. It is an easy afternoon Halloween activity for families who want something hands-on without a haunted-house setting.
