Nursing professional development is the lifelong process of active participation by nurses in learning activities that assist in developing and maintaining their continuing competence, enhance their professional practice, and support achievement of their career goals. We strive to provide learning opportunities that are current, relevant & evidence-based. Nursing Education Department at WakeMed is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. WakeMed Rehab At WakeMed Rehab, we recognize that no two persons - and no two disabilities - are alike. That's why each person we treat participates in a physical rehabilitation program designed specifically for him or her. Each program is based not just on the patient's medical and rehabilitative needs, but also on his or her social, emotional and lifestyle needs. The result is a personalized plan of care that focuses on maximizing each individual's independence and ability to live a meaningful life. Our physical rehab programs are the most comprehensive in the state and include neurological rehab, orthopaedic and joint replacement, outpatient rehab, children's rehab and home care. WakeMed Trauma Services Home to one of six Level I Trauma Centers, the highest designation awarded to trauma centers by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services.
