Follow University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer ResearchLed by Professor Sean Grimmond, an international leader in cancer genomics, the UMCCR takes a personalised, patient-centric approach, targeting key points along the cancer clinical care pathway. Our collaborative research spans prevention and precision screening, diagnostics and optimal therapy selection, primary care, nursing, post-treatment and palliative care, and the use of real-world data to inform health services and policy. We are redefining the standard of care for people affected by cancer. We focus on the unmet therapeutic needs of those diagnosed with rare, recalcitrant and advanced cancers. The UMCCR is based within the state-of-the-art Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre – co-located with industry and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This facilitates greater collaboration with our specialist biobanking, organoid, and rapid large-scale next-generation sequencing labs.
