Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts (SMSA)Since 1833, the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts has served Sydney's community, connecting its members with literature, science and the arts. It is the oldest operating School of Arts in Australia, constituted under its own Act of Parliament. Today, the School continues to operate the longest-running lending library in Australia and runs a robust public program of talks, seminars and screenings. It is the home of the Tom Keneally Centre and offers affordable venue hire in the Sydney CBD.
